The women’s beach volleyball tandem of Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross are back on Copacabana Beach Sunday night, with a win advancing them into the semifinal round.

Standing between the Americans and the semis are Australia’s Taliqua Clancy and Louise Bawden, who won their Round of 16 match in three sets over Kinga Kolosinska and Monika Brzostek of Poland. As of the FIVB’s rankings August 8th, Clancy and Bawden were ranked 32nd in the world with Jennings and Ross being ranked third.

In her Olympic career Walsh Jennings has a match record of 25-0, with only two sets lost during a period that includes three gold medals. She and Ross will look to take another step towards what would be a fourth Olympic gold (and Ross’ first) Sunday night.
