Shave, scrape, shovel: Giving luge, bobsled and skeleton a smooth ride

Speed is the obviously component of bobsled, luge or skeleton. The sleds fly down a track of ice, traveling more than 80 mph.

So who’s responsible for ensuring a (mostly) smooth ride? The Sanki Sliding Center has a tea of workers who are there 24 hours a day, shaving and smoothing out the ice for a (relatively) safe trip.
