San Francisco’s 2024 Olympic bid group detailed its privately funded, estimated $4.5 billion plan to Bay Area media Thursday, including renderings of proposed stadiums.
The plan calls for a temporary stadium to be built for Opening and Closing Ceremonies and track and field in nearby Brisbane and the marathon route to cross over Golden Gate Bridge.
The San Francisco Chronicle and the bid group’s website, SF2024.org, have more details, including a venue map.
San Francisco is among four cities vying for the U.S. 2024 Olympic bid with Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
The U.S. Olympic Committee is expected to choose its bid city in January.
