When Ryan Lochte unwinds after an exhausting swim practice, he’ll chill with his nine-year-old Doberman, Carter, a cocktail and one of his vinyl records -- a collection including Tupac Shakur, Frank Sinatra and Alanis Morissette.
The 11-time Olympic medalist recently showed NBC’s Charlotte affiliate around his home as he prepares for, he hopes, his fourth Olympics.
The pad includes the words “The Jeah Spot” framed between Olympic rings, an ode to Lochte’s signature word.
Lochte, 31, can become the second-oldest U.S. Olympic men’s swimmer since 1924 if he finishes in the top two in any event at the Olympic Trials from June 26-July 3 in Omaha. Or if he finishes in the top six in the 100m or 200m freestyles.
Given Lochte is the four-time reigning World champion in the 200m individual medley, that seems likely.
