Frenchman Richard Gasquet will miss the Rio Olympics with a back injury. France named Benoit Paire to replace him in Rio.

Gasquet, ranked 14th in the world, has not played since retiring from his Wimbledon round-of-16 match with countryman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga with the back injury on July 4.

Gasquet earned doubles bronze with Julien Benneteau in London and lost in the second round in singles.

Paire was the next-highest-ranked French player not already in the Rio field at No. 24 in the ATP rankings on July 30.
