Miguel Angel Jimenez may be 51 years old, but he’s right in the mix of qualifying for the first Olympic golf tournament since 1904.
The Spaniard would love to compete in the Rio Games, should he be one of the top two Spaniards in the world golf ranking on July 11.
“Can you imagine Miguel Angel Jimenez in Rio with a big, fat cigar, walking through the middle of the Olympic Village with all the athletes around?!” he said, according to the European Tour’s Twitter account. “I would love that.”
He is currently the second-ranked Spaniard at No. 59, behind No. 10 overall Sergio Garcia, and boosted by five top-10s on the European Tour this year.
