Kacy Catanzaro‘s history-making run on this season of “American Ninja Warrior” came to a splashing end at the National Finals episode that aired Monday. The former gymnast fell on an obstacle called the “jumping spider.”

“When I stepped up there, I was looking at it, I felt really great, I felt confident,” Catanzaro said. “I took a really big jump. I straddled as far as I could. My hands just didn’t reach, so I took a little tumble. But it’s OK.”

In July, Catanzaro became the first woman to complete an “American Ninja Warrior” city course in Dallas (video here), which qualified her for the Las Vegas finals.

The 5-foot former Towson University gymnast started doing gymnastics at age 5, through her college career two years ago. She was named NCAA Southeast Regional Gymnast of the Year in 2012.

She plans on coming back for the next season of “American Ninja Warrior.”

“It has been such a dream,” Catanzaro said. “I wanted to do, obviously, better than I did here, but I couldn’t have asked for anything more this season.”
