He will team with Jason Knapp for NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra‘s coverage of the Olympic trials on Saturday and Sunday.

Smith owns a record six global titles (including four World Championships) for a U.S. wrestler.

London Olympic champion Jordan Burroughs has made it a goal of catching and surpassing Smith’s record.

Burroughs, 27, is at four global titles, with World Championships in 2011, 2013 and 2015. Smith won the last of his six straight global titles in 1992 at age 26.
