Holley Mangold was among the top U.S. finishers at the World Weightlifting Championships, finishing 13th in the super-heavyweight division in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sunday.
Mangold, the sister of New York Jets center Nick Mangold, placed 10th at her Olympic debut in 2012. The 24-year-old lifted 13 more pounds in Almaty than she did in London two years ago.
She snatched 231 pounds and clean and jerked 311.
The winner, Russian Tatyana Kashirina, lifted 225 pounds more than Mangold combining the snatch and clean and jerk. The Olympic silver medalist broke the world records in the snatch and clean and jerk.
The best U.S. finish for the competition -- men or women -- going into the final day Sunday was Morghan King, who was 11th in the women’s 48kg division.
The U.S. has not won an Olympic or World Championships weightlifting medal since 2005.
