Olympic champions Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman will return this weekend to the Jesolo Trophy, the Italian meet that launched their comebacks one year ago.
Douglas and Raisman lead the U.S. roster for the Saturday-Sunday competition. The full team, which unlike last year is without three-time reigning World all-around champion Simone Biles, can be found here.
Douglas and Raisman took part in last year’s Jesolo meet, their first competition since the London Olympics. Raisman was third and Douglas fourth in a meet where the top five all-around finishers were Americans.
Since, they solidified their standings as favorites to become the first U.S. women to make back-to-back Olympic gymnastics teams since 1996 and 2000.
Both Douglas and Raisman made the six-woman team for October’s World Championships, where Douglas finished second in the all-around to Biles.
Douglas then won the American Cup in February, her first all-around title since the London Games.
Raisman has not performed in competition since October’s World Championships.
Biles is expected to make her 2016 competition debut in April.
