Ester Ledecka, the Olympic Alpine skiing and snowboarding champion, will miss next month’s Alpine skiing world championships but hopes to return from collarbone surgery for snowboard worlds later in February.

Ledecka, 27, said she’s healing well from November surgery but does not want to rush her comeback, according to Czech media quoting a press release.

She will miss Alpine worlds in France, where her 2018 Olympic gold-medal event, the super-G, is Feb. 8. Her events at snowboard worlds, parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom, are Feb. 19 and Feb. 21.

Ledecka hasn’t competed internationally in either sport since March due to her collarbone injury.

She followed her Olympic ski and snowboard titles in 2018 with another snowboard gold last year. In Alpine skiing, she was fourth in the combined and fifth in the super-G at last year’s Games.

Ledecka is the only person to win Olympic titles in skiing and snowboarding.

Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami is the reigning Olympic and world champion in the super-G.
