Chloe Kim laughed off a scary crash at the Burton U.S. Open on Thursday, landing on the edge of the halfpipe and banging her face on the lip.
Kim, 15 and the two-time reigning Winter X Games champion, still qualified first into the final with a 94.25 in one of her semifinal runs.
She’ll face off with 2002 Olympic champion Kelly Clark, 2006 Olympic halfpipe champion Hannah Teter and 2014 Olympian Arielle Gold, among others, on Saturday in Vail, Colo.
Kim is having a strong season, having won the Winter X Games, Youth Olympics and scoring what’s believed to be the second perfect 100 in competition at the U.S. Grand Prix in Park City, Utah (video here).
Kim was too young to compete in the Sochi Olympics.
