Bode Miller isn’t ready to hang up his ski boots quite yet, not after an impressive season that left him wanting something more.
“I’m frustrated and worn out right now, but I think I have more to do in the sport,” Miller said after finishing third in the World Cup Finals super-G on Thursday, according to The Associated Press. “I definitely am still competitive. If I can keep my body healthy then I think the plan is to race next year.”
Miller, 36, is finishing his season in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, this week. After missing all of 2012-13 following knee surgery, he made four podiums this year but didn’t grab any wins.
He was very disappointed not to win the famed Kitzbuehel downhill in Austria in January and to finish eighth in the Olympic downhill. Miller’s form going into both races suggested he could have won.
Still, Miller won bronze in the Olympic super-G and ranks seventh in the overall World Cup standings with his highest point total since he won the overall title in 2008. He’s the only racer in the top 11 of the standings without a win this season.
He’s hungry for more, but he’s also ready to rest.
“Right now, I feel like I don’t want to see ski boots for a little while,” he said, according to the AP.
