Team USA’s Jamie Anderson (pictured) and Karly Shorr each turned in top-four efforts this morning in qualifying to claim spots for Sunday’s Olympic women’s snowboard slopestyle final.
Anderson, considered by many as the favorite to win the inaugural slopestyle gold medal, earned a score of 93.50 on her first run that would eventually put her second in Heat Two behind Austria’s Anna Gasser, who managed a 95.50 on her second run.
Later in Heat Two, Shorr cracked the top-four on her second run, which got her a score of 84.75. Fellow American Jessika Jenson was then the last to take a second run in the heat but was unable to move into the final.

The fourth member of the U.S. slopestyle squad, Ty Walker, chose not to take on the obstacles in her first run due to the multiple injuries she’s sustained in training this week. However, since there were no eliminations today, she still got to advance to the semifinal round by simply getting a score in the books.
