WATCH LIVE: Blackhawks visit Bruins on NBCSN

BmMBPIyYVmeH
Sunday we celebrate from three of the biggest hockey towns across the country with Rangers vs. Penguins, Blues vs. Wild and Flyers vs. Red Wings as Hockey Day in America takes over NBC, NBCSN and the NBC Sports app.

NBCSN’s coverage of the 2018-19 NHL season continues with Tuesday’s matchup between the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks. Coverage begins at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN. You can watch the game online and on the NBC Sports app by clicking here.

The Blackhawks have won seven straight games, the longest active winning streak in the NHL, and have scored four-plus goals in six of the wins (averaging 5.14 goals/game during winning streak). The streak started with an 8-5 win over the Washington Capitals on January 20.

After winning seven straight games, the Blackhawks find themselves with 55 points, just four points back of the second wild card in the Western Conference. Before Chicago started this win streak, they had 41 points and were in last place in the conference.

Patrick Kane is having arguably the best year of his career, and should the Blackhawks rally to make the playoffs, he could perhaps win his second career Hart Trophy. He’s currently on a 14-game point streak (31 points: 11 goals, 20 assists), the league’s longest active point streak, and is averaging 1.47 points/game, which would be the best of his 12-year career. Kane is currently tied for second in the NHL with 81 points as he looks to win his second Art Ross Trophy.

While Tampa Bay is way out in front for first in the Atlantic Division, Toronto, Boston and Montreal are competing for second and third in the division. The Bruins conclude a three-game home stand when they host the Blackhawks, before hitting the road for a five-game roas trip.

While it was Jaroslav Halak in net for Sunday’s 2-1 OT win over Colorado, it’s been Rask who has led the way for Boston, going 9-0-2 in his last 11 decisions dating to Dec. 29. This is the third time in the past two seasons that he has gone at least 10 consecutive decisions without a regulation loss (went 19-0-2 from Nov. 29 - Feb. 6, 2018 and 10-0-1 from Feb. 27 - March 31, 2018). Rask has two shutouts, a 1.83 GAA and .938 save percentage in his last 12 games.
