Every now and then, a star player turns some heads - and makes their teams nervous about injuries - by getting into a fight.
Vincent Lecavalier has made a name for himself by doing that thanks to his memorable bout with Jarome Iginla during the 2004 Stanley Cup finals. Still, sometimes it can be pretty obvious why he’s only dropped his gloves less than 20 times ... and this fight against Luke Schenn might be a prime example:
As of this writing, 72.7 percent of pugilism connoisseurs at Hockey Fights awarded the victory to the 23-year-old Schenn.
Lecavalier, 32, got the last laugh; he scored a goal while the Tampa Bay Lightning throttled the Philadelphia Flyers 5-1 on Sunday. (He was an assist short of a Gordie Howe hat trick, in case you were wondering.)
