It was immediately apparent that Ottawa Senators defenseman Eric Gryba was in a bad way following a hit by Pittsburgh Penguins blueliner Brooks Orpik in Wednesday’s Game 1 match. The upper-body injury he suffered will probably keep him out in Game 2, as well, according to the Ottawa Sun’s Bruce Garrioch.
Garrioch reports that the 25-year-old will be replaced by either Andre Benoit or Mike Lundin.
Here’s a side-by-side breakdown of the trio’s regular season stats, in case you want to play Senators head coach (don’t forget your imitation Paul MacLean mustache):
Gryba: 33 games played, six points, -3 rating and 20:17 minutes per game
Benoit: 33 GP, 10 points, -3 rating and 16:25 minutes per game
Lundin: 11 GP, 1 point, -2 rating and 15:30 minutes per game
