Mike Richards would like to resume his NHL career, but his legal issues are standing in the way, so that all remains on hold.
For the second time, his hearing regarding a charge of possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone) was pushed back, now to sometime in January, according to Global News.
The previous postponement happened back in September, with Tuesday standing as the date. More may be known tomorrow.
Look back at the Richards situation
The contract termination kicked in during the summer, including the NHLPA filing a grievance on Richards’ behalf. NHL teams were not pleased with the settlement that Richards and the Kings eventually hashed out.
Now we’re basically in the “legal limbo” stage before we find out if a team may be interested in signing Richards to a contract or at least giving him a tryout.
