Brandon Yip is on his way to Germany.
Adler Mannheim, to be specific -- on Monday, the Deutsche Eishockey Liga club announced it’d signed the 29-year-old veteran to a contract.
Yip, a Colorado draftee in 2004, spent the first three years of his NHL career with the Avalanche, scoring a career high 12 goals and 22 points during the 2010-11 campaign. From there, he spent time in both the Predators and Coyotes organizations before a stint with Anaheim’s AHL affiliate in Norfolk this year.
A former Boston University standout, Yip now joins a Mannheim team that features ex-NHLers Danny Richmond, Jamie Tardif, Glen Metropolit and Jochen Hecht.
