The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League the club announced Thursday.
The 20-year-old started one game after being recalled on Tuesday making 10 saves in a 5-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday.
Vasilevskiy has appeared in four games with the Lightning this season going 3-1-0 while posting a 1.76 G.A.A. and a .937 save percentage.
Originally the Lightning’s first-round selection (19th overall) in 2012, Vasilevskiy has appeared in 16 AHL games with Syracuse this season posting a 9-3-4 record to go along with a 2.34 G.A.A. and a .919 save percentage.
As Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Bay Tribune notes, with Vasilevskiy being reassigned, Ben Bishop will return to Tampa’s lineup Friday when the Lightning visit the Pittsburgh Penguins.
