After about two months playing for Swedish second division team Djurgardens, Gabriel Landeskog decided to come back to North America, according to the Denver Post’s Adrian Dater.
Dater passes along Swedish reports that indicate Landeskog’s exit is tax-related; it’s possible that the 2012 Calder Trophy winner would have been forced to pay a significant income tax if he was in Sweden much longer.
He scored three points in his last game for the team’s 3-0 win against Altuma on Monday, so at least he left with a bang.
Landeskog became the Colorado Avalanche’s captain in early September, making him the youngest player to don the “C” in NHL history.
