The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that the 49ers will receive a fifth-round pick in the deal. Quarterback Jayden Daniels led the team to the postseason in his rookie year, doing so with an all-new coaching staff to boot. The team now adds a veteran “Queen chess piece” in Samuel, a player that is capable of adding numerous layers to an offense already one of the more dynamic units in the league. The addition of Samuel is likely to generate more one-on-one matchups for Terry McLaurin on the perimeter, boosting the fantasy expectations of both players in the process. Brandon Aiyuk has also been rumored to be a potential trade candidate out of San Francisco this offseason, but he would stand to benefit should he remain in the bay area. As too would veteran tight end George Kittle, the latter of whom has held drastic splits with Samuel on and off the field the previous three seasons.

That is of particular intrigue considering his hands measured just 8 6/8 inches at the Senior Bowl, something that sparked some level of controversy with the measurement coming in below the magical 9-inch mark for quarterbacks. Milroe’s draft stock seems to be on the rise during the weekend of the Combine, regardless of how his hands grew in just a few short weeks.

This was already shaping up to be an eventful offseason in San Francisco with an extension looming for Brock Purdy and GM John Lynch acknowledging that Deebo Samuel will be on the move. Now Aiyuk, who signed a $120 million extension last offseason, could also be out the door. It’s already been reported that the 26-year-old wide receiver’s availability is uncertain for the start of the season after tearing his MCL and ACL last October. There are scenarios where the 49ers enter 2025 with Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall as their top two receivers. If that’s the case, George Kittle’s ADP will skyrocket.

Russini, citing sources, was told the Eagles’ interest in Garrett is real and passes along a quote from a rival GM who wonders if Garrett is this offseason’s Saquon Barkley for Howie Roseman. The path to Philadelphia making this happen could be challenging, however. The Eagles have a list of key free agents they’d like to keep including Zack Baun, Josh Sweat, Milton Williams and Mekhi Becton. Philadelphia is 20th in the league with a little less than $18 million in cap space, according to spotrac. The Browns aren’t currently listening to trade offers for Garrett, though Russini believes there could be movement before the NFL Draft if the team changes its mind.

The Titans now get the opportunity to go in-depth with the 2025 draft class’ top-four prospects. These valuable top-30 visits are one way for the public to parse the mixed signals that NFL front offices begin sending out at this time of the year. If an NFL team opts to host a prospect via an official visit, it suggests they are strongly considering them as draft-day targets.

Emmanwori’s first place finishes include a 43.0-inch vertical jump, an 11-foot, six-inch broad jump and a 1.49-second 10-yard split in the 40-yard dash. His 4.38-second overall time in the 40-yard dash ranks second. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound safety regularly lined up in the box, as a free safety and in slot coverage at South Carolina, totaling eight tackles for loss or no gain, 13 forced incompletions and 217 solo tackles in his three-year college career.

Burks underwent surgery last October to repair a partial ACL tear that he suffered during a Week 7 practice and has a long road ahead in his recovery. The 2022 first-round pick has not lived up to expectations and is scheduled to enter free agency after the 2025 season. This is an unfortunate start to Burks’ contract year.

Raiders GM John Spytek told reporters that film review interviews at the NFL Scouting Combine are critical in prospect evaluation, calling them “a hugely important part and may be the most important part, especially at quarterback.” With Matthew Stafford no longer available, and the Raiders’ new leadership group reportedly being tepid on the remaining veteran QB options, accurately identifying worthwhile Day 2 QB options could prove pivotal.

Tafur and Reed perhaps generously describe White as having “had some great moments in 2023 before falling off due to scheme, vision and injuries last season.” It would be unsurprising to see the Raiders waive White after the draft but acquiring a late-round pick for him is technically possible.

Mayer makes for an intriguing dart throw for TE-needy teams. The 2023 second-round pick missed six games due to personal reasons in 2024 but was a well-respected prospect just two years ago. With sub-$3 million salary cap hits in each of the next two seasons, Mayer profiles as a highly affordable, potential starter.
