Vikings RB Jordan Mason (ankle) is not on the injury report for Week 18 against the Packers.
Mason is in line to start this week with RB Aaron Jones (hip) having been ruled out. The Packers have already locked up a playoff spot. The Vikings are simply trying to get a better read on QB J.J. McCarthy. Mason is on the RB3/FLEX radar this week. He will likely cede passing down snaps to No. 3 RB Zavier Scott.

Vikings RB Jordan Mason (ankle) practiced fully on Thursday.
With RB Aaron Jones (hip) sidelined by a hip injury, Mason has a chance to start. Vikings No. 3 RB Zavier Scott would likely play in passing situations, if this is indeed, the case. Mason would be on the RB3/FLEX radar. The Vikings face the playoff-bound Packers in Week 18.

Aaron Jones (ankle) returned to the Vikings’ Week 16 game against the Giants.
Jones left in the first quarter with an ankle issue and was listed as questionable. Jordan Mason also suffered an ankle injury and was taken to the locker room on a cart. Assuming he remains out, Jones and Zavier Scott will split the backfield for the remainder of the game.

Aaron Jones (ankle) is questionable to return in Week 16 against the Giants.
Jordan Mason left for the locker room with an ankle injury of his own. That leaves Zavier Scott as the only active running back on the Vikings’ roster. Fullback C.J. Ham will likely see an uptick in snaps as well. Scott will get three quarters of workhorse duties if both Mason and Jones remain out today.

Aaron Jones is believed to be day-to-day after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 13’s loss to the Seahawks.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jones “is likely to be considered day-to-day” with his injury. Jones exited in the third quarter of Sunday’s shutout loss to the Seahawks and didn’t return to the field. The phrasing in Schefter’s report suggests the Vikings are still waiting to get a final word on Jones’ injury, but it sounds like he avoided the worst. If he is day-to-day, Jones will have a chance to suit up in Week 14 when the Vikings face the Commanders this week, but if he’s unable to go, we can expect Jordan Mason to step into a lead role with Zavier Scott likely working in on passing downs.
  • MIN Running Back #36
Zavier Scott had three rushes for 17 yards in the Vikings’ Week 13 loss against the Seahawks, adding one catch for four yards.
Scott could see an increased role in Week 14 if Aaron Jones misses time with the shoulder injury he sustained in the second half of the team’s loss against Seattle. Jones has a history of shoulder ailments and was quickly pulled from the game. Jordan Mason would likely take over as the Vikings’ lead back, but it could be Scott who takes on the pass-catching tole with Jones sidelined. Scott had a six-catch game in Week 3 with Jones out. He should be picked up in deeper leagues.

Vikings RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) is questionable to play in Week 8 against the Chargers.
The Vikings activated Jones from injured reserve on Tuesday, allowing him to practice in a limited capacity twice in the lead up to the team’s Thursday Night Football game against the Chargers this week. One would assume that the team would prefer to let Jones ramp up in practice with a few full practice sessions before keeping him active on game day, but anything is possible. Check back on Thursday to find out if the Vikings’ starter will make his return. He would be a volatile RB2 candidate if active. Fellow Minnesota running back Zavier Scott is also questionable, though Scott won’t have much fantasy value in any scenario.
  • MIN Running Back #36
Zavier Scott rushed four times for four yards in Minnesota’s Week 7 loss to the Eagles, adding a catch for two yards on his only target
He only played 9-of-69 snaps and with Aaron Jones due back soon has no long-term value as a hedge against a Jordan Mason injury. Scott can be returned to the waiver wire ahead of Week 8.
  • MIN Running Back #36
Zavier Scott rushed five times for 18 yards in the Vikings’ Week 5 win over the Browns.
Jordan Mason committed a first-quarter fumble that paved the way for Scott to see an uptick in touches. He was the team’s top back on the following drive, though it didn’t last long. Scott gave up a fumble of his own in the second half and didn’t touch the ball once on the team’s final three drives. With the Vikings on bye in Week 6, fantasy managers can cut ties with Scott on the next run of waivers.
  • MIN Running Back #36
Zavier Scott caught 6-of-8 passes for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings’ Week 4 loss to the Steelers.
Scott is the Vikings’ backup running back with Aaron Jones on injured reserve, but he was used in a hybrid role versus Pittsburgh. Scott, who played wide receiver at UConn, ran routes from the backfield, slot, and out wide in this game. He only saw two carries and rushed for just one yard. Carson Wentz attempted 46 passes, juicing the counting stats for his receivers, but a 17 percent target share is also impressive from Scott. He will hit the RB4 radar for Minnesota’s Week 4 date with the Browns in London.
