Giants signed Kentucky S Yusuf Corker.
Corker (6’0”/203) had 81 total tackles, a team-high eight pass breakups, was a Lott IMPACT Trophy semi-finalist, and played in the Reese’s Senior Bowl in 2021. His Combine numbers were decent, and he came away with a 6.45 relative athletic score. He is a physical defensive back who loves to be involved in the ending of every play. While he does have the drive to want to get the ball carrier, he sometimes has trouble finishing the play. He consistently takes bad angles to make the tackle and is usually left with a big whiff. The football IQ is there as he reads routes very well and has the hustle you want, but the liabilities in his technical skills, footwork, and tackling are too big at this point to give him a role on defense.

Kentucky redshirt sophomore S Yusuf Corker has been ejected from Saturday’s game vs. Florida for targeting.
This is a big personnel loss for the Wildcats, as Corker (6'0/192) was ejected after delivering a hard hit to Florida’s Trevor Grimes in the end zone. With the Wildcats’ second-leading tackler done for the night, HC Mark Stoops will turn to true freshman Taj Dodson to fill the void.

Kentucky received a verbal commitment from four-star 2017 CB Yusuf Corker.
Corker opted to join the Wildcats over Michigan State, South Carolina and Tennessee. He adds to an already deep corner class for HC Mark Stoops, who has now gained pledges from five 2017 prospects at the position. The 6-foot, 185-pound Corker ranks as Scout.com’s No. 268 overall prospect in the 2017 cycle, with the outlet noting that while he is “strong fundamentally,” there is “still [room to] improve his footwork.” The Scout team writes that “Corker is very smart, he loves to be coached, and he is a very hard worker.”
