The Redskins upped their offer to free agent linebacker Warrick Holdman.
The former Bears starter would replace Jeremiah Trotter.

Expect Warrick Holdman to take over a starting LB spot for Cleveland.
He’s pushing third-year pro Kevin Bentley. Coach Butch Davis was impressed with Holdman’s effort in a scrimmage this weekend.

Both Washington daily papers say LB Warrick Holdman has been the star of minicamp.
“His suddenness without pads on is excellent,” defensive coordinator Gregg Williams said. Holdman, 30, was a solid starter earlier in his career and has a chance to be a major IDP sleeper if he can hold of Rocky McIntosh for the starting weak-side job. The Redskins often bring their rookies along slowly.

Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams says Warrick Holman has a slight “edge” to start at WLB this season.
Williams added that rookie Rocky McIntosh (knee surgery) and Chris Clemons are “breathing right down his neck.” McIntosh will return in training camp, when this battle should heat up.

The Redskins have confirmed they will move Warrick Holdman to middle linebacker this season.
He’s probably the most qualified candidate to replace Antonio Pierce. Whether it’s Holdman or Lemar Marshall, the MLB spot in Washington has huge upside.

With LaVar Arrington injured, LB Warrick Holdman is lining up as Washington’s first-team weak-side linebacker.
He’s an IDP factor if Arrington can’t get healthy.

Broncos LB Warrick Holdman will miss three months after suffering a spinal cord concussion last week.
Holdman could miss the entire season on IR or reach an injury settlement with the team and be released. “Right now it’s a little hard to say what we are going to do,” Head Coach Mike Shanahan said. “We’re talking to his agent, we’re talking to his doctors.”

Broncos LB Nate Webster is being given a look on the strong side at camp.
D.D. Lewis, Warrick Holdman, and Webster make up the competition now, with Eddie Moore on I.R. Webster is more likely to back up MLB D.J. Williams.

Broncos LB Warrick Holdman was carted off the field and taken to the hospital Thursday morning with an apparent neck or head injury.
The Associated Press reports that Holdman had movement in his arms and legs, but there was no initial report on the severity of the injury. The AP report says Holdman “appeared to hit the crown of his helmet on another player’s helmet”. He was down for eight minutes before being taken off the field.

Warrick Holdman underwent several tests and was scheduled to spend the night in a hospital after leaving practice Thursday on a backboard and being diagnosed with a spinal cord concussion.
The long-term prognosis isn’t clear, but the team should update his status at some point on Friday. He was battling Nate Webster and D.D. Lewis for the starting LB spot on the strong side.
