Jets designated OT Duane Brown (shoulder) to return from injured reserve.
Defensive lineman Vinny Curry was also designated to return. Brown was signed in the middle of training camp after the Jets lost Mekhi Becton to a season-ending knee injury. Brown then suffered a shoulder injury that landed him on injured reserve just before Week 1. He now has a 21-day window to return to practice. Brown’s return would be a big boost for a Jets’ offensive line that has been crushed by injuries this year.

    Jets re-signed DE Vinny Curry.
Curry spent the entire 2021 season on the reserve/NFI list after doctors discovered blood clots following a procedure to remove his spleen. He was then waived by the Jets after their season ended. The re-signing should mean that Curry has been fully cleared to play. He appeared in 11 games for the Eagles in 2020 and logged three sacks. He will return to a rotational role in 2022.

    Jets waived DE Vinny Curry.
Signed to a one-year deal in March, Curry spent the entire 2021 season on the reserve/NFI list after doctors discovered blood clots. It is unclear if his medical situation will allow him to play moving forward. Set to turn 34 in June, the long-time Eagle could likely contribute as a rotational pass rusher in 2022 if his health allows him.

  • FA Defensive End #99
Jets DE Vinny Curry announced he developed blood clots and will miss the 2021 season.
The Jets placed the 33-year-old on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday, but it’s now been revealed why and the severity of the issue. The New York doctors caught the blood disorder, and it required the removal of Curry’s spleen. He’s now on blood thinners and can’t play in a contact sport for the next 3-6 months, meaning he’s done for the year. Curry is the second free-agent edge rusher the Jets have lost after stud DE Carl Lawson tore his Achilles’ last week. The Jets badly need to acquire some help at the position.

  • FA Defensive End #99
Jets placed DE Vinny Curry on the reserve/PUP list.
This means the 33-year-old free agent addition pass rusher will miss at least the first six games of the season. With the Jets on bye in Week 6, Week 8 against the Bengals is the earliest Curry could be activated. It is the latest injury blow for the Jets’ edge rush. They are probably going to have to dip into the waiver wire/free agent pool.

  • FA Defensive End #99
Jets signed DE Vinny Curry, formerly of the Eagles, to a one-year, $1.3 million contract.
Curry turns 33 in June and has spent eight of his nine seasons with the Eagles, so he knows Jets GM Joe Douglas from their connection in Philly. Curry isn’t the asset off the edge he once was but will try to provide some juice to a pass rush that has been lacking in recent years. Newcomer Carl Lawson will do the heavy lifting.

  • Running Back #23
Eagles placed RB Corey Clement, WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, and DE Vinny Curry on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
This means the players either tested positive for the virus or were considered close contacts of someone who tested positive. Clement has 19 carries and five targets on the season while playing 14 percent of the team’s offensive snaps. His absence could open up more snaps for Boston Scott. Arcega-Whiteside has just five targets on the year.

  • FA Defensive End #99
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Eagles DE Vinny Curry (hamstring) is expected to miss four weeks.
Coach Doug Pederson himself said he expects Curry to miss “significant time.” He will cool his heels on injured reserve. Curry started Week 1 and totaled two tackles and one sack on 22 snaps before exiting early, being replaced by Josh Sweat down the stretch. The Eagles will likely move Curry to injured reserve mid-week.

  • FA Defensive End #99
Eagles re-signed veteran DE Vinny Curry to a 1-year deal worth up to $2 million.
Nearly $1.3 million is fully guaranteed, so Curry likely will make the Eagles roster at the end of training camp. Curry returned to Philadelphia prior to last season, where he spent the first six years of his career, and posted five sacks on 415 snaps last season. He frequently rotated in as the third edge rusher, splitting time with Josh Sweat in that role.

  • FA Defensive End #99
Eagles signed DE Vinny Curry to a one-year contract.
The deal is not yet official, but it has been widely reported, first by The Philly Inquirer’s Zach Berman. It is a homecoming for Curry, who was a second-round pick by the Eagles in 2012 and spent six seasons with the team before leaving for Tampa Bay last year. Curry’s return gives Philly the same defensive end rotation which helped propel them to the Super Bowl in 2017.
