Patriots LT Vederian Lowe (shoulder) is questionable for Week 10 against the Bears.
The same is true of right guard Layden Robinson. Both players played last week and practiced in some capacity three times this week, meaning they should suit up on Sunday. Healthy or not, New England will continue to roll out a bottom-tier line in Week 10.
  • NE Tackle #59
Patriots OT Vederian Lowe (ankle) left New England’s Week 6 game against the Texans and was ruled out.
Zach Thomas — not that one — took over at left tackle for the Patriots. Lowe appeared to get rolled up on by a teammate at some point in the first half. A New England line that was already in rough shape at the start of the season has been besieged by injuries. The quick rule out does not augur well for Lowe’s short-term future.
  • NE Linebacker #33
Patriots declared OLB Anfernee Jennings, TE Jaheim Bell, DE Jamree Kromah, QB Joe Milton III, OT Vederian Lowe, LG Michael Jordan inactive for Week 4 against the 49ers.
The Patriots’ front-seven is down three starters at this point. It’s an unideal situation facing the 49ers’ vaunted rushing attack. The 49ers’ pass rush should also effectively generate pressure against the Patriots’ problematic offensive line.
  • NE Safety #5
Patriots S Jabrill Peppers (hip) is active for Week 1’s matchup against the Bengals.
Peppers popped up on the injury report late in the week, but will suit up against the Bengals in Week 1. All four of the Patriots listed as questionable will be active including Peppers, RB Antonio Gibson, OT Vederian Lowe and LB Josh Uche.
  • NE Tackle #77
Patriots listed LT Trent Brown (ankle/knee) as questionable for Week 8.
That’s back-to-back weeks where Brown has been listed as questionable, but the veteran tackle has played in each of the Patriots’ last five games and shouldn’t be at real risk of missing Week 8. Brown, along with starting RT Vederian Lowe (ankle) are both listed as questionable, but Lowe was able to log limited practices each of the last two days. Starting left guard Cole Strange was removed from the injury report.
  • NE Tackle #63
Vikings traded OL Vederian Lowe to the Patriots for a sixth-round pick.
The Vikings essentially recoup the sixth-round pick they used to draft Lowe last season. As a rookie, Lowe appeared in four games for the Vikings but took just 33 snaps on offense. Lowe was one of two offensive linemen the Patriots traded for this weekend, as they look to add depth before the start of the season.
  • NE Tackle #59
Vikings selected Illinois OT Vederian Lowe with the No. 184 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Lowe (6'5/314) logged an Illinois record 52 starts, giving him experience that really cannot be beaten. He has prototypical size for the position (90th percentile arm length and wingspan) and dominates the intangibles department, with his leadership and maturity a constant point of praise. Lowe has good balance and can bend well, allowing him to get low on blocks and get leverage. He has the most experience run blocking (80.3 PFF run blocking grade) — that was Illinois’ main method of attack — and he has shown flashes in the passing game. He isn’t refined there, however, and overall his technique needs work despite his many starts. Still, he seems to take well to coaching (he showed a lot of improvement in his one season with Bret Bielema), works hard, and has all the prerequisite physical tools to make it work. He’s at an odd intersection of older (23) but still raw but has a good base to work with.

  • NE Tackle #59
Illinois senior OL Vederian Lowe has accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Lowe (6'6/320) started all 12 games for the Illini at left tackle this season, and received an overall grade of 80.2 for his blocking efforts. As a pass blocker, Lowe allowed 12 quarterback pressures and four sacks on 367 pass blocking opportunities, but allowed three pressures and no sacks in the team’s final seven games of the season. Now with his sights set on the NFL, Lowe will suit up in the East-West Shrine Bowl on February 3rd.

  • NE Tackle #59
Illinois senior OL Vederian Lowe (lower body) is questionable to return to Saturday’s game at Penn State.
Lowe (6'6/320) was injured during the second quarter of Saturday’s game, and it is unknown if he’ll be able to return. The senior offensive lineman required some assistance in getting to the injury tent, and he is now back on the sideline (but without his helmet). A return to action Saturday afternoon doesn’t appear to be all that promising.

  • NE Tackle #59
Illinois junior LT Vederian Lowe was given a fourth-round draft grade by Draft Analyst’s Tony Pauline.
Lowe (6'6/320) started all 12 games for the Fighting Illini at left tackle in 2018, and in the eyes of Pauline while he’s a lineman worthy of NFL attention he needs to develop more of a “mean streak.” Getting better in that regard could very well result in Lowe improving his draft prospects for 2020 (or 2021). “The underclassman left tackle blocks with leverage and strength and is moderately effective in motion.” Pauline wrote about the junior, who he believes will move either to right tackle or inside to guard at the next level. “He has a next-level frame and makes great use of positioning and angles to seal defenders from the action.”
