Patriots signed G Tyrese Robinson off the Vikings practice squad.
Robinson was an interesting UDFA in the 2022 class and has bounced between the Commanders, Eagles, and Vikings offseason rosters and practice squads since coming out of Oklahoma. The Patriots, as is now their normal, are shuffling bodies along the offensive line after another injury and hoping to find some players who will stick. It’s a great chance for Robinson to establish himself as an NFL-capable lineman.

Commander signed Oklahoma OL Tyrese Robinson.
Robinson (6'3/324) was a three-year starter for the Oklahoma Sooners, playing guard before moving to right tackle in 2021. While he lacks the length to play tackle at the next level, his power and attitude make him an excellent mauler at guard in a power run scheme. He’s a stout individual, and going through him is a tough ask. He also invites contact, wanting to battle hard and finish blocks through the whistle. His effort isn’t in question, and he will sprint around looking for work after burying his first matchup. What is in question is his feet. He’s rather slow and not very fluid, with a very poor 3.05 relative athletic score. Defenders who attack him with counters and twists can get around him, and he also struggles to stay latched onto guys. He’s the definition of “if you can’t go through him, go around,” a trait which at least gets somewhat mitigated at guard. Robinson is a road-grader in the run game, and he will bowl over the first guy he can get his weight on. He may not offer much more than that, but that in itself is a valuable skill set.

Oklahoma’s Tyrese Robinson will start at right tackle, as Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley announced Tuesday.
RT Tyrese Robinson (6'3, 324) started all 11 games last season with the Sooners at right guard. This year, he gets the starting nod at right tackle while senior Chris Murray will be Oklahoma’s starter at right guard. Riley also announced that center competition is between sophomore Andrew Raym and senior Robert Congel, while the left tackle battle is a three-way one between sophomore Anton Harrison, junior Wanya Morris and senior Erik Swenson.

Oklahoma redshirt junior G Tyrese Robinson left Saturday night’s game against Missouri State with an apparent leg injury, per The Oklahoman’s Ryan Aber.
Robinson’s second season as OU’s starting guard is off to a bit of a rocky start. After going down with an apparent leg injury, Robinson (6'3/335) was able to leave the field under his own power. Robinson was then seen on the sideline stretching out his leg, perhaps trying to work out a cramp. Redshirt sophomore G Brey Walker stepped in to replace Robinson, at least for the time being.

The Dallas Morning News’ Matt Wixon believes that Oklahoma four-star 2017 verbal G commit Tyrese Robinson could find early success with the Sooners.
Robinson might have the talent to play early, but whether he can actually carve out a spot on the line is a different matter. Oklahoma returns a ton of starting talent along the line. Assuming the Sooners don’t redshirt him, the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder could still work his way into the rotation early on. ESPN 300 slots him into their master list at No. 95. The outlet notes that he this is “a guy with all the physical traits you look for in a guard - quick hands and feet, good strength and a nasty finishing attitude.”
