Rutgers redshirt sophomore LB Tyreek Maddox-Williams (knee) went through spring practice without any apparent physical issue.
Maddox-Williams (6'0/232) missed the entirety of the 2017 season after sustaining a severe ACL injury on a non-contact play at the beginning of August camp a year ago. He subsequently took a medical redshirt for the campaign. All systems would appear to be a-go heading into the summer, though, with OLB coach Toby Neinas saying earlier this spring that the linebacker was “moving very well.” During a healthy 2016 season, Maddox-Williams registered 46 tackles. He’s got a good chance of winning the starting strongside linebacker gig in preseason camp assuming he can avoid injury setback.
