Rutgers has lost starting sophomore LB Tyreek Maddox-Williams for a season following a non-contact ACL injury.
Maddox-Williams started six games for Rutgers last year on the strong side and drew on freshman lists. The expectations are low for Rutgers, and this weakens their most veteran and possibly most talented position group.

Rutgers redshirt sophomore LB Tyreek Maddox-Williams (knee) went through spring practice without any apparent physical issue.
Maddox-Williams (6'0/232) missed the entirety of the 2017 season after sustaining a severe ACL injury on a non-contact play at the beginning of August camp a year ago. He subsequently took a medical redshirt for the campaign. All systems would appear to be a-go heading into the summer, though, with OLB coach Toby Neinas saying earlier this spring that the linebacker was “moving very well.” During a healthy 2016 season, Maddox-Williams registered 46 tackles. He’s got a good chance of winning the starting strongside linebacker gig in preseason camp assuming he can avoid injury setback.
