ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe reports Tua Tagovailoa is focusing on “getting the ball out quicker.”
It’s hard to imagine Tagovailoa being any quicker than he was in 2024, when he got the ball out an average of 2.3 seconds after taking the snap — the lowest mark in the NFL. That naturally led to a bunch of short throws; no QB had a lower air yards per attempt (5.8) than Tua in 2024. Wolfe said the renewed focus on quick passes was meant to guard the injury-marred Tagovailoa against big hits in the pocket. Last year he struggled with a hip injury that lingered into the offseason, and he has a long history of brain injuries. Tua shapes up as a potential top-12 fantasy QB with a sturdy floor and not much upside. Continued quick passing should benefit De’Von Achane and Jonnu Smith, if Smith remains in Miami amid a protracted contract dispute.

NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reports that Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill caught passes during individual drills at Tuesday’s minicamp practice.
Hill underwent a pair of surgeries on his left wrist during the offseason, the most recent taking place last month. The five-time All-Pro selection caught 81 passes for 959 yards and six touchdowns in 2024, each representing his lowest totals since joining the Dolphins in 2022. The 31-year-old wide receiver originally injured his wrist last August during a joint practice with the Commanders, but appeared in all 17 regular season games for the Dolphins despite the injury. The Dolphins hope Hill can resume team drills in training camp.

The Miami Herald’s C. Isaiah Smalls II reports that Tyreek Hill “appears ready” to don the Dolphins’ “aqua and orange” jersey in 2025.
In the piece, Smalls quotes new Dolphins WR coach Robert Prince, OC Frank Smith and GM Chris Grier, who respectively say Hill is communicating promptly, demonstrating motivation and “doing all the things to show his teammates that this is where he wants to be.” Smalls notes that “Smith was unsure of Hill’s recovery timeline” following Hill’s two offseason wrist surgeries, and adds that “Hill’s health will be certainly something to monitor as organized team activities (OTAs) get underway in the coming weeks.” At this time, it is unclear whether Hill will return to 1,000-yard form at 31 years old, but having him on the field is certainly a positive for Tua Tagovailoa’s 2025 fantasy prospects.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports NFL players are expected to be allowed to participate in flag football during the 2028 Olympic games in Los Angeles.
NFL owners are voting on the matter today in Minnesota. A source told Schefter the matter is widely expected to have approval from NFL ownership ahead of the first Olympic games with flag football as a sport. Pro Bowl players have participated in flag football games in recent years as part of the reimagined Pro Bowl format. Many players have enthusiastically embraced flag football, including Tyreek Hill, who has said he would be interested in joining the U.S. flag football Olympic squad in LA. “You know how amazing it would be to assemble a super team to play in the Olympics,” he said during a podcast in 2023. The NFL, meanwhile, has made efforts to promote flag football over the past five years.

The Commanders will play the Dolphins in Madrid, Spain on November 16.
The NFL appears keen on spotlighting Jayden Daniels and the Commanders after their stunning run to the NFC title game last season. Daniels will lead the hyper-efficient Washington offense into Madrid for the last of the seven 2025 international regular season games. It could be an exciting back-and-forth affair between a high-powered Commanders offense — now with Deebo Samuel — and a Miami offense led by Tua Tagovailoa, De’Von Achane, and Tyreek Hill.

ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques reports that Tyreek Hill underwent a second, pre-planned surgery to remove screws placed in his wrist during the first offseason surgery.
We now know why Hill underwent a second surgery. A prior report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero provided only big-picture notes on the matter. Temporary screws were drilled into Hill’s wrist during the first surgery to aid the healing process. This secondary report confirms that the follow-up procedure was done only to remove the hardware and was, in fact, pre-planned. Hill’s return to 2023 form is not guaranteed, but fantasy managers can rest assured that the most recent operation was not done to correct a complication or new issue. Mike McDaniel has maintained that Hill will not resume football activities until “around summertime going into training camp.”

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Tyreek Hill’s second wrist surgery was part of the original plan and his timeline remains unchanged.
Hill announced the second surgery on social media and Pelissero quickly added some context to the situation. The speedy receiver suffered the wrist injury just before the start of the season and it lingered throughout the year, though he never missed a game because of it. If the second surgery truly is a non-story, an offseason to recover might be what Hill needs to return to form after a down 2024 season. On the other hand, Hill is 31 years old, played his worst football last year, and his offense prioritized targets for Jonnu Smith and De’Von Achane. As it stands, Hill might have the highest risk-reward split in fantasy drafts.

Dolphins GM Chris Grier said the Dolphins are not “pursuing” a trade of Tyreek Hill and no team has called them to attempt to trade for Hill.
Grier joked in the presser that if somebody calls to offer them two first-round picks they’d consider it, but unfortunately for him, Bill O’Brien can only offer NIL money at this time. Hill’s recent domestic dispute with his wife likely has teams skittish regarding a potential trade for the speedy wideout. Denials don’t always mean what is on the tin — and the fact that Grier said no team had contacted them as far as a trade for Hill could be viewed as him seeking a market — but as of now, it looks more likely than not that Hill will return as Miami’s No. 1 receiver in 2025.

FOX Sports 640’s Andy Slater reports that the NFL has requested the 911 audio from the recent domestic dispute involving Tyreek Hill.
Per a follow-up report from NBC Sports’ ProFootballTalk, “the NFL could take action under the Personal Conduct Policy, regardless of whether no action is taken against Hill in the criminal justice system.” The NFL, however, does not have subpoena power, so participation by the requestees is voluntary. There’s probably not a reason to expect Hill to draw a conduct policy suspension just yet, but if Hill’s mother-in-law or wife cooperate with the NFL, fantasy managers should probably have this case on their radar this offseason.

Local 10 News’ Rosh Lowe and Ryan Mackey report Tyreek Hill was “involved in a domestic dispute with his wife at his high-rise condominium in Sunny Isles Beach on Monday.”
Per the report, officers were called to Hill’s residence for an “assault in progress.” Officers spoke with Hill, his wife Keeta Hill, and his wife’s mother Alesia Vaccaro. The mother described Hill as “very aggressive and impulsive.” She also noted that she feared for her daughter’s safety. Hill reportedly threw a laptop on the floor then grabbed his daughter and began walking toward the balcony of their residence. Vaccaro called the police at this point. Hill was not arrested and his wife declined to provide a written statement to police. Though it’s another ugly incident for Hill, no charges were filed by the police, meaning it’s unlikely anything more comes from this.
