Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz reports free agent OT Tyre Phillips ‘has continued to recover from a Week 17 quad injury’ and that ‘several teams have shown interest’ in signing him.
Phillips saw his 2023 come to an end in Week 17 after he suffered a torn quad. The former third-rounder appeared in 10 games last season while making nine starts and has 27 starts under his belt. Phillips earned a PFF blocking grade of 52.7 last season while playing exclusively at right tackle. He also has experience at right guard, providing whatever team signs him with some versatility along the interior. We’ll see if any of this interest leads to a signing before the start of the season or if he’ll have to wait for injuries to pop up in the regular season before landing a new gig.

Giants OT Tyre Phillips suffered a torn quad tendon, ending his season.
It’s a brutal break for Phillips, who started in nine of his 10 games played for the Giants after being claimed off the Eagles’ practice squad earlier this year. Phillips entered Week 17 with a PFF pass-block grade of 62.5, allowing only two sacks on 299 pass-blocking opportunities. He’ll now spend much of the offseason recovering from his injury in hopes of being ready for the start of next season.

Giants signed OT Tyre Phillips off the Eagles’ practice squad.
The signing of Phillips off the Eagles’ practice squad means he’ll be joining the Giants’ 53-man roster. The offensive line-starved Giants need help in the worst way, and have opted to reunite with Phillips, who was a surprise cut by the team earlier this summer. In addition to Phillips, the Giants also signed OL Josh Miles off the Falcons’ practice squad.

    Giants claimed G/T Tyre Phillips.
Phillips, a 2020 third-round draft pick waived this week by Baltimore, joins a down-bad offensive line that struggled with injuries throughout training camp. Phillips, who appeared in 22 games for the Ravens over the past two years, could step into heavy snaps right away for the Giants.

    Ravens waived G/T Tyre Phillips.
Phillips made the initial 53-man roster but has since lost his spot after waiver claims Wednesday. Phillips was a third-round pick in 2020 and has appeared in 22 games for the Ravens across two seasons, making 13 starts on the offensive line.

Ravens placed OL Tyre Phillips on injured reserve, ending his season.
Through two years, Phillips has been banged up often and has not produced much when healthy. His 63.1 PFF pass block grade in 271 snaps this year was a career-high. A third-round pick in 2020, Phillips’ first two years have left him as more of a depth piece than someone Baltimore can depend on.

Phillips, who started at left guard in Monday night’s season opener, was carted off the field with a knee injury. Ravens LG Tyre Phillips is doubtful to return to Week 1 against the Raiders after being carted off with a knee injury.
Phillips was rolled up late in the second quarter and was in obvious pain on the field before needing a cart to come out and get him. It had the look of a potentially serious injury. The injury bug has been hammering the Ravens.
