Falcons signed Boston College OT Tyler Vrabel.
Vrabel (6'5/310), son of Titans coach Mike, was a three-year starter for BC, playing two seasons on the left and one on the right. Vrabel is a solid athlete with good technique, both with his hands and his feet. He’s got the right temperament for a lineman, playing through the whistle. His lateral mobility helps in pass protection and in getting out in space on the run. Power, speed, technique and IQ are all there for Vrabel, and the ability to play both tackle positions is a boon. His length may let him down at the NFL level, though, and could necessitate a switch to guard. Vrabel’s posture and bend are the weakest parts of his game, but those are more fixable than the length issues. Besides that, Vrabel is a fairly complete package and much more polished than many of the other UDFA types in the class.
