  • Wide Receiver #85
Central Michigan redshirt sophomore WR Tyrone Scott entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Scott (6'3/194) appeared in two games for the Chippewas this past season, catching four passes for 37 yards. The 2019 campaign was the Estill, South Carolina native’s best, as he made 14 appearances (ten starts) and posted a 37-650-5 receiving stat line. As a redshirt sophomore, Scott will have up to three seasons of eligibility remaining at his next stop should he go through with a transfer.

  • Wide Receiver #85
Central Michigan redshirt freshman WR Tyrone Scott led the Chippewas with 95 receiving yards in Saturday’s 45-44 win over Ball State.
Scott (6'3/194) may not have reached the end zone, but he did establish a new career-high for receiving yards on Saturday. The redshirt freshman has caught 28 passes for 503 yards and three touchdowns this season, and his average of 18.0 yards per reception leads the team. While Kahlil Pimpleton and JaCorey Sullivan have been the most productive with regards to receptions, Scott has been the team’s big-play threat. He and the Chippewas are off until November 29, when Toledo visits in the regular season finale for both teams.
  • Wide Receiver #85
Central Michigan redshirt freshman WR Tyrone Scott caught two touchdowns on five receptions for 93 yards in a 38-21 win over Albany on Thursday.
We didn’t have much about Scott this offseason, but he sure got off to a nice start to 2019 against the Danes. He brought in two of the three touchdown passes from the right arm of Quinten Dormady; a 22-yard strike from Dormady in the first, and a 14-yard connection a quarter later. Scott has good size (6'3/192), and could be the go-to target for the Chippewas all season; there’s no obvious other answer. We’ll see if he can repeat this next Saturday against Wisconsin.
