Titans released S Tuff Harris and S Nick Schommer.
Harris is a practice squad player that got promoted to a game last year. Schommer was a seventh-round pick this year and will have a chance to make it on special teams next year.
  • PIT Defensive Back
Steelers signed S Tuff Harris to their practice squad.
Harris, released over the weekend, played in six games with the Titans last season.
  • NO Defensive Back
Saints signed S Curome Cox and waived S Tuff Harris.
Cox adds experienced depth at a thinning spot in New Orleans.
  • TEN Punter
Titans released Josh Miller and signed DB Tuff Harris.
Miller, 38, found himself second on the depth chart to Craig Hentrich. Harris appeared in one game for the Dolphins last season.
  • DEN Quarterback
Titans waived QB Ingle Martin, CB Cary Williams, K John Vaughn, S Tony Joiner, WR Edward Williams, RB Omar Cuff, CB Marquice Cole, and S Tuff Harris.
Tennessee will enter Week 1 with just two QBs, and that puts to rest any lingering concern about a “hole” in Vince Young’s quadriceps. Williams was the team’s seventh-round pick. Vaughn kicked at Auburn.
  • MIA Linebacker
Saints signed LB William Kershaw, LB Chris Graham, and DB Tuff Harris.
Kershaw spent a portion of the 2008 offseason with the Broncos before being waived in April. Harris spent the 2007 season with the Dolphins.
  • BAL Quarterback
Dolphins waived QB Casey Bramlet, S Tuff Harris, LB Mark Washington, WR Kerry Reed, DB Jereme Perry, LB Marcello Church, and WR Chandler Williams.
Not much interesting here. The Ravens could put in a waiver claim for Reed, who was a favorite of new offensive coordinator Cam Cameron last season. Williams was the Vikings’ 2007 seventh-round pick.
  • PIT Defensive Back
Titans promoted CB Tuff Harris from their practice squad.
Harris will add depth behind Chris Carr, who is expected to start at corner against the Jets.
  • FA Defensive Back #35
    Steelers re-signed S Da’Mon Cromartie-Smith and waived/injured S Tuff Harris.
Harris had a shoulder injury, the extent of which is unknown. Cromartie-Smith offers an intriguing size-speed combo, but it’s not a good sign that he went unsigned after the Steelers waived him in June. He won’t make the club.
