Lions placed RB Craig Reynolds (ribs) on injured reserve.
The team signed wide receiver Trinity Benson off the Broncos’ practice squad in a corresponding move. Reynolds had been replaced by Justin Jackson as Detroit’s third running back. Jackson will continue to relieve D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams in Week 10.

  • Wide Receiver #82
ESPN’s Eric Woodyard named WR Trinity Benson as his offseason standout for the Lions.
Lions coach Dan Campbell said earlier in the offseason that Benson was “having a hell of a spring.” Benson is well-off the fantasy radar and is probably just fighting for a roster spot in Detroit, but that’s not a damning sentiment for his career considering how beefed up Detroit’s wideout depth chart is at this point. Benson was already involved in a final cuts trade in 2021 and could catch on somewhere in the league, if not Detroit.

  • Wide Receiver #82
Lions delared WR Trinity Benson, CB Daryl Worley, DE Eric Banks, OLB Jessie Lemonier, CB Mark Gilbert and DE Jason Cornell inactive for Week 6 against the Bengals.
The Lions avoided any major inactives on offense this week, with D’Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson both active this week. Both players are good starts this week, despite being tagged questionable.

  • Wide Receiver #82
Trinity Benson caught 1-of-3 targets for 24 yards in the Lions’ Week 2 loss to the Packers.
Acquired from the Broncos at final cuts, Benson saw six targets in the Week 1 opener on 53% of the snaps as the third wideout. His three targets in this one were fifth on the club. He’s well off the fantasy radar ahead of a Week 3 date with the Ravens.

  • Wide Receiver #82
Lions acquired WR Trinity Benson and a 2023 sixth round draft pick from the Broncos in exchange for 2022 fifth and seventh round picks.
Benson made a little noise during Broncos training camp in 2019 after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent out of East Central Oklahoma. Benson was a downfield threat and a standout kick returner in college. He’ll join the NFL’s worst wide receiver group in Detroit.

  • Wide Receiver #82
Broncos WR Trinity Benson worked with the first-team offense in 11-on-11 drills Saturday.
The undrafted prospect out of East Central Oklahoma tested well across the board in Indy, running a 4.49 40-time and elite sub-6.9 three-cone drill. Benson (5'11/182) projects as a slot wideout with superior explosiveness, as proven by his eight catches and four runs of 20-plus yards at the collegiate level. Scout maven Dane Brugler considered Benson a late-round sleeper prior to the draft. He’s a name to track if only for preseason DFS purposes.
