  • SF Defensive Back #21
Steelers selected Oklahoma S Tre Norwood with the No. 245 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Via The Athletic’s Dane Brugler, “Norwood attended Northside High School and posted 35 tackles and two interceptions as a senior, adding 785 rushing yards, 281 passing yards and 10 total touchdowns on offense. A three-star cornerback recruit, Norwood originally verballed to Louisville before flipping to Oklahoma. Norwood played primarily cornerback the first two seasons as a Sooner before missing the 2019 season (ACL) and moving to nickel safety in 2020. He started five of the final six games in 2020 and posted five interceptions over that span. Norwood is undersized with poor length, but he does a nice job fighting for body position in coverage and has above-average ball skills to make quarterbacks pay for their mistakes. As a run defender, he is a soft tackler, often wrestling instead of striking his target. Overall, Norwood flashed ball-hawking skills in 2020, but he has a slight body type with below-average tackling skills and might have a tough time making an NFL roster.”
