Brown played a career-high 187 (40%) special teams snaps in his inaugural season with the Bengals in 2020, merely logging 95 defensive snaps as a deep reserve. He’ll likely be used in a similar role this year given the team’s recent additions of CBs Chidobe Awuzie and Mike Hilton.

The special teams standout will miss a minimum of three games. The Bengals promoted WR Stanley Morgan from the practice squad to replace Brown on the active roster.

Brown made 20 appearances for the Packers over the past two seasons before being cut loose at the end of the regular season. The Bengals promptly claimed him off waivers. He will have a decent shot at cracking the rebuilding Bengals’ 53-man roster.

Brown’s rights will be awarded to the Bengals after the Super Bowl. He played 20 games with the Packers over the past two seasons, recording five pass deflections and two forced fumbles.

Brown (6’0/199) was a sub-package slot corner and special teamer for the Crimson Tide, managing three career interceptions and 4.5 tackles for loss. An All-American 4x400 sprinter for Alabama’s track team, Brown blazed 4.35 at the Combine with a lightning-quick 6.78 three-cone time. Arguably the top gunner in this draft class, Brown offers longer-range upside as a versatile defensive back with adequate size, outstanding tackling skills, and high-end athleticism.
