North Carolina signed four-star DE Tomon Fox.
Fox is the only ESPN 300 name the Tar Heels managed to reel in, sitting at 194 on their annual prospect list. The 6-foot-3, 232-pound end also saw interest from (among others) Georgia Tech, Kentucky and Memphis. His coach at Collins Hill, Kevin Reach, described him as a quiet leader. “The best thing about him is he’s always working,” Reach said, “whether he’s working for himself or trying to help out the younger kids - he’s always trying to make us a better football team.” On the playing side of things, Scout.com’s Don Callahan wrote, “Whether going inside or outside, his hands are constantly moving to prevent O-linemen from latching on. Against the run, Fox shoots the gap and has an outstanding motor.”
