Texans declared WR Tyler Johnson, QB Kyle Allen, LB Garret Wallow, LB Jake Hansen, DL Thomas Booker, OL Austin Deculus, and DL Rasheem Green inactive for Week 1 against the Colts.
Johnson, who was claimed on waivers, seems to not be completely up to speed with the playbook just yet. Rasheem Green was the only player actually listed on the injury report, with a thigh injury that had him questionable, after the team sent Mario Addison to injured reserve. It’s a little surprising to see the supposed backup quarterback Allen inactive. Wallow, too, seemed to have his backers in the building though he missed plenty of training camp with an injury.

Texans traded up with the Bears to select Stanford DT Thomas Booker with the No. 150 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Booker (6’3/301) was a four-year player at Stanford who played over 300 defense snaps as a freshman. In his first two years with the Cardinal, Booker totaled 7.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for a loss. Booker was second-team All-Pac 12 in 2020. After a strong start to his career, Booker saw his high-end production fall off in his final two seasons, totaling just two sacks and eight TFLs in his final 18 games. While he’s spent most of his time as a defensive tackle, Booker has also seen significant work at defensive end throughout his career. He could eventually be used along multiple fronts given his versatility.
