Chargers signed LBs Terna Nande and Antwan Applewhite, RB Eldra Buckley, G Erik Robertson, OL Tony Pape, DEs Andre Coleman and Keith Grennan, NT Keith Jackson, and S Tra Battle to reserve/future contracts.

Jackson appeared to be a nice seventh-round gamble by St. Louis last April, but didn’t make the team. He is too small to ever be more than a reserve. Nande and Applewhite will try to make a mark on kickoff coverage this spring.

Chargers waived RB Marcus B. Thomas, G Erik Robertson, LB Carlos Polk, OT Tony Pape, LB Terna Nande, OT Tyler Luellen, WR Mark Jones, and OL Brandyn Dombrowski.

Thomas was effective in the preseason and may latch on elsewhere. If not, he could go to the practice squad. Polk became expendable with Jyles Tucker’s emergence. Darren Sproles will likely return punts with Jones gone.
