Panthers CB Jaycee Horn (hip) is doubtful for Week 17 against the Buccaneers.
Horn was a DNP all week and seems highly unlikely to play despite a doubtful tag that leaves an ounce of optimism. Horn played through a groin injury last week, but this week’s hip injury is likely going to prove too much to play through. In addition to Horn, OT Taylor Moton (knee) is also doubtful, while linebacker Josey Jewell (concussion/quad) and cornerback Chau Smith-Wade (illness/chest) have both been ruled out.
  • CAR Tackle #72
Panthers RT Taylor Moton (triceps) returned to practice Wednesday.
Moton left Week 5 with the triceps injury and has missed the Panthers’ subsequent two games. Yosh Nijman has taken over at right tackle but will return to the bench once Moton is healthy. Moton’s return will be a step in the right direction for a struggling Carolina offense.
  • CAR Tackle #72
Panthers ruled out OT Taylor Moton (triceps) for Week 7 against the Commanders.
Moton Will now miss a second-straight game with his triceps injury, paving the way for Yosh Nijman to start in Week 7 if he can go. Nijman is also listed as questionable with a knee injury, as the Panthers are currently dealing with multiple injuries along the o-line.
  • CAR Tackle #72
Panthers RT Taylor Moton (triceps) did not practice Wednesday.
Moton missed Week 6 with the injury and looks unlikely to make his return in Week 7. He is currently considered week-to-week. Yosh Nijman will start at right tackle until Moton is healthy.
  • CAR Tackle #72
Panthers RT Taylor Moton (elbow) did not practice Wednesday.
Moton left Week 5 with an elbow injury and did not return. The Panthers already lost starting center Austin Corbett to a season-ending bicep injury. Losing Moton, even for a short period of time, would be another massive blow to an offense whose best strength is its bigs.
  • CAR Tackle #72
Panthers RT Taylor Moton suffered an elbow injury and will not return in Week 5 against the Bears.
The Panthers’ line was one of their biggest strengths entering Week 5 but the team will now be without a mainstay of the trenches for the remainder of the game. Yosh Nijman has taken Moton’s spot in the lineup.
  • CAR Tackle #72
Panthers RT Taylor Moton (back/knee) is questionable for Week 2 against the Chargers.
Moton was added to the injury report on Thursday as a DNP, suggesting the issues flared up mid-week. He was upgraded to a limited session on Friday before being listed as questionable. Left guard Damien Lewis (groin) is also listed as questionable. Lewis was limited for all three practice sessions of the week. Both linemen appear to be on the right side of questionable. Still, it’s a situation worth monitoring given how much Bryce Young struggled behind a healthy offensive line in Week 1.
  • CAR Tackle #72
Panthers restructured T Taylor Moton’s contract.
The Panthers also restructured DT Shy Tuttle’s deal, freeing up $10.7 million total. The team was more than $4.5 million in the red prior to the moves, which will allow the front office to address depth issues in-season.
  • CAR Tackle #72
Panthers RT Taylor Moton (biceps) was not at practice on Wednesday.
The starting right tackle was able to play on Sunday, but was not spotted at practice on Wednesday. Given that he was able to suit up this weekend, there isn’t any real concern at the moment. However, the Panthers have allowed nine sacks and a bottom third pressure rate so far this year, so they’ll want their offensive line fully healthy before a showdown with the Vikings.
  • CAR Tackle #72
The Panthers restructured RT Taylor Moton’s contract.
Carolina can save as much as $11.1 million by restructuring his deal, though the exact details of the maneuver haven’t been reported yet. They also restructured his contract last offseason. Up against the salary cap and without any easy cuts to make, the Panthers’ easiest avenue for creating cap space this offseason is through restructured deals. D.J. Moore could be the next player on the list for GM Scott Fitterer.
