Tay Martin caught his only target for 49 yards and a touchdown in Tennessee’s Week 18 loss to the Texans.
It was a prayer third-down toss by Will Levis, but Martin finally has his first catch and touchdown of his career. The 27-year-old played just four offensive snaps. Martin will likely remain buried on the depth chart in Tennessee if Brian Callahan is retained as head coach, but at least he’ll always have this moment.
  • TEN Wide Receiver #18
Oklahoma State senior WR Davontavean Martin caught 10 passes for 104 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s 37-35 Fiesta Bowl win over Notre Dame.
Martin (6'3/186) managed to find the end zone late in the second quarter of this one, but had some early drives plagued by drives that contributed to Oklahoma State’s early offensive woes, and 28-14 halftime deficit. Martin would get right in the third quarter however, catching two touchdown passes from five and eight-yards out, with his third and final score being the one that would tie the game at 28-28 before a 38-yard field goal by Tanner Brown would put the Cowboys up 31-28 heading into the fourth quarter. Martin’s breakout campaign has officially come to a close, as the fifth-year player finishes 2021 with 80 receptions for 1,046 yards and 10 touchdowns.

  • TEN Wide Receiver #18
Oklahoma State senior WR Dovontavean Martin caught nine passes for 88 yards in Saturday’s 21-16 loss to Baylor.
Oklahoma State only managed one touchdown on the day, but it was Martin (6'3/186) who was perhaps their most productive offensive player despite the fact that he didn’t score in this one. Martin hauled in several passes on the day, in a game that Oklahoma State trailed 21-6 in at halftime. His longest reception on the day came on a 17-yard pass in the third quarter, that ended with a Spencer Sanders interception and no points for the Cowboys. Martin has gone for 80 or more yards in seven of his 12 games this season, and now has a receiving line of 70-942-7 on the year, as he and the Cowboys now prepare for their bowl game before closing out the season.

  • TEN Wide Receiver #18
Oklahoma State senior WR Tay Martin caught seven passes for 89 yards and a touchdown in a 37-33 victory over Oklahoma this Saturday.
Martin (6'3"/186) received 12 targets in the contest, which was twice as many looks as any other receiver for either team. His touchdown catch was a beauty, as the senior transfer from Wazzu elevated over his defender for a 30-yard scoring strike on OSU’s opening drive. He also cashed in a four-yard touchdown run for good measure, as Martin scored two touchdowns in a game for the second time this season. He excelled as the primary outside threat following the departure of Tylan Wallace, totaling a career-high 61 receptions for 854 yards and seven touchdowns thus far. He will look to add to those impressive totals next week against Baylor in the Big 12 Championship.

  • TEN Wide Receiver #18
Oklahoma State senior WR Davontavean Martin caught seven passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns as the Cowboys downed West Virginia 24-3 on Saturday.
Martin (6'3/186) led the Cowboys in receiving on the day while hauling in touchdown passes of six and 12 yards from quarterback Spencer Sanders. Sanders’ final touchdown on the day gave Oklahoma State a 17-3 lead, which would be more than enough in this one, as the Cowboys now sit at 8-1 on the season. Martin has now caught 43 passes for 592 yards and six touchdowns as he and the Cowboys now prepare for TCU in Week 11.

  • TEN Wide Receiver #18
Oklahoma State senior WR Davontavean Martin caught five passes for 84 yards with a touchdown in a 55-3 win over Kansas on Saturday.
With Oklahoma State coming off an upset loss against Iowa State, they needed a matchup like this to get back on track. The offense looked great in the first half by running up and down the field over Kansas by scoring five touchdowns. Martin (6'3/186) joined in when quarterback Spencer Sanders rolled out of the pocket and aired it out, he was able to hit Martin in stride as he went into the end zone for 36 yards. With the Cowboys up 38-0 going into halftime, they had this game under control and rested most of their starters. Oklahoma State will travel to face West Virginia next Saturday.

  • TEN Wide Receiver #18
Oklahoma State senior WR Davontavean Martin caught nine passes for 100 yards with a touchdown in a 31-20 win on Saturday over Kansas State.
Martin returned injured his leg in the win over Tulsa back on September 11, but he returned against the Wildcats, and returned in a big way. The former Washington State wideout has picked up 100 yards in both of his games for the Cowboys this year, and has picked up touchdowns in both appearances. Martin looked good at times with Washington State as well, so this could very well be legit. He’ll try and keep the good run going against Baylor next weekend.

  • TEN Wide Receiver #18
Oklahoma State senior WR Davontavean Martin (leg) will be available for Saturday’s game against Kansas State.
The Cowboys will apparently welcome back two wide receivers Saturday night, but one will be a bit limited. While Martin (6'3/186) will be a full go in Oklahoma State’s Big 12 opener, Jaden Bray is expected to be available but limited. Getting the receiving corps back to full strength will be of the utmost importance to Oklahoma State, as it looks to make a run in the Big 12.

  • TEN Wide Receiver #18
Oklahoma State senior WR Davontavean Martin (leg) may be available for Saturday’s game against Kansas State.
Martin (6'3/186) injured his leg early in the Cowboys’ win over Tulsa back on September 11, and as a result, he did not take part in last weekend’s win at Boise State. However, based upon the senior wide receiver’s Instagram post, it appears that the Cowboys will welcome back one of its top weapons for the team’s Big 12 opener. Martin, who caught six passes for 107 yards and a touchdown in the season opener, served as Tylan Wallace’s primary backup in 2020.

  • TEN Wide Receiver #18
Oklahoma State senior WR Davontavean Martin (leg) limped off the field after the second play of Saturday’s game against Tulsa.
Martin (6'3/186) was not a lock to play Saturday afternoon due to a lower body injury, and he may have aggravated it on just the second play from scrimmage. The senior wide receiver limped off the field after dropping a pass, and has not returned to the field since. Jaden Bray, who replaced Martin, is a player to watch for the Cowboys as they look to beat the Golden Hurricane.
