ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Bucs OG Sua Opeta suffered a torn ACL in training camp.
Opeta signed a one-year deal with the Bucs in the offseason and was competing for a starting job at left guard. He made starts at both left and right guard for the Eagles in 2023. Opeta came into the league as a UDFA and carved out a role as a versatile backup for Philly. He will now miss the entirety of the 2024 season.

According to Draft Analyst’s Tony Pauline, Weber State G Iosua Opeta ran the 20-yard shuttle in 4.67 seconds at his school’s pro day.
Opeta (6'4/301) made waves at the combine with his 40-yard dash time of 5.02 seconds, and he also posted solid numbers in the bench press (39 reps) and vertical jump (33 inches). As a result the former Weber State lineman simply looked to improve upon his time in the short shuttle, which was timed at 4.94 seconds in Indianapolis. Mission accomplished for Opeta, who clocked in at 4.67 seconds on Wednesday. The question for him with regards to the draft is whether or not the athletic testing numbers will be enough to get him selected at some point on Day 3.

Weber State G Iosua Opeta ran the 40-yard dash in 5.02 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Don’t get it twisted. A time of 5.02 seconds makes Opeta one of the most athletic linemen in the 2019 class, especially since he just pounded out 39 reps on the bench press. Although he’s not considered one of the best linemen on tape, his athletic profile should get him drafted in Day 3, perhaps as a sleeper.

Weber State G Iosua Opeta performed 39 reps on the bench press to lead all offensive linemen at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Opeta (6'4/301) could ultimately end up going undrafted, but his impressive mark on the bench press will at least keep him on the NFL’s radar. As for his bonafides beyond the bench press, the Weber State standout was named an All-American for his fine work during the 2018 campaign and took part in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl back in January. Runner-up on the bench press to Opeta was NC State C Garrett Bradbury with 34 reps.

Weber State G Iosua Opeta accepted an invitation to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
Opeta has been a mainstay on the Wildcats offensive lineman, and was named an All-American for his work as a junior, with more honors likely coming for the 6-foot-4, 304 pound lineman. The question is whether or not Opeta plays inside or out at the next level, but he’s been a sleeper prospect on several analysts’ boards, and he has a great chance of being drafted this spring.
