Browns selected Baylor DT Siaki Ika with the No. 98 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Ika (6’3/335) was a 4-star recruit, and the 13th-ranked defensive tackle, from Salt Lake City, Utah in the 2019 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports. Ika is the epitome of a space-occupying gap-eating 1-Tech Nose tackle. Once he is established in his desired position, there is no moving him, no matter how many blockers are devoted to the effort. While he moves well for his size, it is still only good for a 2.02 RAS. All said, he carries his weight well and is useful in clogging up rushing lanes. At times he struggles to disengage from blocks, but he has demonstrated the ability to make a play through the blocker instead of going around them. His history of being on successful teams will help in convincing coaches that he has the makeup to help a team succeed at the next level as well. Like many prospects of his profile, there will need to be some body recomposition once he lands on an NFL team. But, defenses that struggle with stopping the run will be excited to get the immovable object that is Ika.
