If Kevin Jones’ injury is serious, Bryson has fantasy value in most leagues. But we’d rather have Artose Pinner.

With 87 catches in two seasons, Bryson has evolved into one of the best third-down backs in the league. He’s still only worth owning for Kevin Jones owners.

Bryson, Artose Pinner and Kevin Jones each scored in the win. Bryson’s score in the fourth quarter sealed the win for Detroit. Jones will remain the starter.

With Kevin Jones’ status questionable, Bryson could be in line to share some carries with Artose Pinner next week. Be sure to continue to monitor the Lions’ injury situation.

Bryson failed his pre-camp physical. Detroit had planned for Bryson to be its top fullback in 2007, but that job will likely now fall to Casey FitzSimmons.

Detroit was hoping to upgrade their backfield, and still may, but were apparently unimpressed with the remaining free agent running backs. Bryson ran for 606 yards last season with a 3.8 average, but is unlikely to get so many opportunities again. Detroit will likely seek help in the draft as well.

Mike Martz and Rod Marinelli lobbied hard for the veteran to stick around and solidify the RB2 spot behind Kevin Jones. The deal is worth $4.5 million and includes a $1.5 million signing bonus.
