Hayden Hurst (hip) is active for Week 16 against the Broncos.
Hurt will be playing for the first time since the end of November after being placed on injured reserve with his hip injury He isn’t likely to be a major fantasy contributor, but with Will Dissly (shoulder) inactive, it could open up some snaps/targets. The remaining inactives for the Chargers are CB Cam Hart S Elijah Molden LB Shaquille Quarterman OL Brenden Jaimes OL Jordan McFadden and QB Easton Stick (emergency QB)
Matthew Berry, Connor Rogers and Jay Croucher give their favorite prop bets for the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Broncos and Chargers in Denver, including Courtland Sutton having over 60.5 receiving yards.
  • PHI Safety #39
Eagles signed S Caden Sterns, formerly of the Broncos.
Sterns was released by the Broncos last week and now has a new home in Philly. The former fifth-round pick has played in 21 games in his career while making five starts but has played in just six games over the last two seasons due to injuries. Sterns has a chance to provide some added depth to an Eagles secondary that has attempted to reconfigure itself this offseason in hopes of achieving better results than they had last year. In a corresponding move, the Eagles released linebacker Shaq Quarterman.
  • LAC Linebacker #58
Jaguars signed fourth-round LB Shaquille Quarterman to a four-year contract.
Jacksonville has worked to improve their linebacker group over the last two offseasons, selecting Quincy Williams in the third-round last offseason, K’Lavon Chaisson in the first-round as a hybrid player, Quarterman in the fourth-round a few months ago and giving Joe Schobert a five-year deal with $21 million guaranteed. Quarterman packs a punch, but he might struggle in coverage compared to the athletes that surround him.

  • LAC Linebacker #58
Jaguars selected Miami LB Shaquille Quarterman with the No. 140 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Quarterman (6’0/234) was a captain and four-year starting middle linebacker at Miami who earned All-ACC honors all four seasons. As a senior, he was named the Hurricanes’ MVP after totaling 107 tackles and 15.5 TFLs, production that led to a No. 11 ranking out of 417 FBS qualifiers in PFF’s run-defense grade. His numbers and physicality make him an intriguing depth option who can specialize stopping the run, but his 21st percentile Adjusted SPARQ athleticism (4.74 forty) and poor coverage skills limit his ceiling and role in the NFL. Quarterman will likely be a target for offensive coordinators on passing downs.

  • LAC Linebacker #58
Miami LB Shaquille Quarterman was described as a “lineal, downhill thumper” according to NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein.
Quarterman (6'0/234) was one of Miami’s most dependable players during his four seasons in Coral Gables, not missing a single start. Yet despite that dependability and his on-field production, Zierlein projects him to be a backup middle linebacker at the next level. “Quarterman is durable and dependable in the middle of the defense, but he lacks NFL range and has below-average short-area agility and quickness as open-field tackler,” Zierlein wrote about Quarterman, who is projected to be a Day 3 draft pick.
  • LAC Linebacker #58
Miami senior LB Shaquille Quarterman accepted his invitation to play in the East/West Shrine Bowl.
Quarterman (6'1/240) has been a fixture on the Miami defense, starting every game of his career without missing a single game in four years. Quarterman racked up 96 tackles, 47 solo, a sack and five passes defended this season as a defensive captain. Draft analysts view him as lacking range but is an imposing run-stopper who works effectively between the tackles. He is projected as a fifth-to-seventh round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.
  • LAC Linebacker #58
Miami senior LB Shaquille Quarterman was given a fifth round grade by Draft Analyst’s Tony Pauline.
Pauline has Quarterman (6'1/240) just behind Mike Pinckney, who was given a fourth round grade. While Pinckney is viewed as the most athletic of the Hurricane linebackers, Quarterman was described as the “most instinctive and most polished.” He’s coming off of a junior season in which he tallied 82 total tackles (14 for loss), six sacks, one interception, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. For his effort Quarterman was named first team All-ACC by the conference’s coaches.
  • LAC Linebacker #58
Miami junior LB Shaquille Quarterman will return to school for the 2019 season.
Miami will be getting back three junior linebackers for the 2019 campaign, with Zach McCloud and Mike Pinckney having already announced that they will be returning to campus next season. For his part, the 6-foot-1, 240-pound Quarterman wrapped the 2018 season having recorded 82 tackles (14.0 for loss), five sacks, an interception and a forced fumble across 13 games played. He has logged at least 80 tackles in each of his three seasons with the program to date.
  • LAC Linebacker #58
Miami junior LB Shaquille Quarterman (ankle) practiced Tuesday.
Great news after Quarterman was knocked out of the UNC game early last Thursday. He’s on track to return Saturday against FSU.
