Despite apparent depth to starting training camp, Houston is scrambling just to find a third starter to pair with DeMeco Ryans and Morlon Greenwood.
  • CLE Linebacker
Shantee Orr will be used as a defensive end this season.
He’s behind Danny Clark and Charlie Anderson at strong-side linebacker, so Orr needs two injuries to regain his starting job. Orr is a good pass rusher and will come from the edge on nickel downs as well as play special teams.

Texans LB Shantee Orr is missing time with a bruised hand.
The Houston Chronicle reports that Orr might lose his starting job, and it’s possible he could even lose his spot on the roster. “It’s very important for him to get out here to make this football team,” said coach Gary Kubiak.

Orr can get to the passer, so there’s a chance he’ll be claimed off waivers in the coming days. He also can cover kicks and has starting experience.

Orr finally gets the chance to play in a 3-4 that suits his skills. The 26-year-old will likely be given the chance to compete with Willie McGinest and Antwan Peek for playing time off the edge. Orr had seven sacks in 2005.
  • CLE Linebacker
Willie McGinest lined up as a starting outside linebacker as the Browns opened Organized Team Activities on Wednesday.
He’s ahead of Antwan Peek for now, although they’ll work in a rotation with Shantee Orr also involved. None is a good bet for more than five sacks.
