Titans signed DT Sebastian Joseph-Day, formerly of the 49ers, to a one-year contract.
Joseph-Day played two games with the 49ers last season after being released by the Chargers in November. A run stuffer who has bounced around the league since 2021, Joseph-Day joins a Titans defense graded by Pro Football Focus as the NFL’s ninth worst rush defense in 2023.
  • SF Defensive Tackle #51
NFL Network’s Jason McCourty reports the 49ers have agreed to terms with DT Sebastian Joseph-Day.
A day after losing big to the Ravens in Week 16, the 49ers add to their defensive line with Arik Armstead missing three straight weeks due to injury. Joseph-Day was released by the Chargers and now signs with a contending NFC team. He is a big body for the 49ers to utilize in an already intimidating defensive line.
  • LAC Safety #3
Chargers S Derwin James (thigh) is doubtful to play in Week 14 against the Dolphins.
Defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day and cornerback Bryce Callahan are also listed as doubtful. None of the three defenders are expected to play. James has been off the field for two of the Chargers’ defensive snaps this year. His loss is a tremendous blow to LA’s secondary and makes an exciting matchup even better for Tua Tagovailoa and company.

  • TEN Defensive End #69
Chargers head coach Brandon Staley said DT Sebastian Joseph-Day suffered a knee injury in the team’s Week 13 loss to the Raiders.
Joseph-Day exited late in the fourth quarter with a knee injury and was unable to put any weight on it. The veteran defensive tackle was signed to a three-year contract this offseason and has been a staple along the Chargers’ defensive line. He’s totaled 44 tackles, one sack and seven TFLs on the season and has appeared on over 500 defensive snaps per PFF. Staley did not give a timetable for his return.

  • TEN Defensive End #69
Chargers agreed to terms with DT Sebastian Joseph-Day, formerly of the Rams, on a three-year, $24 million contract.
Joseph-Day reunites with former Rams DC and current Chargers head coach Brandon Staley in the opposite L.A. locker room. 27 next week, Joseph-Day missed 10 games this past season with a pec injury and recorded three sacks in seven games while playing next to Aaron Donald. With the Chargers, he figures to replace free agent DT Linval Joseph and will plug the middle between Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack.

  • TEN Defensive End #69
Rams activated DT Sebastian Joseph-Day from injured reserve.
Joseph-Day has been out since suffering a pec injury way back in Week 8. Before that, he recorded three sacks, a career-high, in just seven games. He should provide quality rotational snaps against the Bengals.

  • LAR Running Back #25
Rams activated Darrell Henderson (knee) from injured reserve.
Henderson gives the Rams another option at running back against the Bengals defense that is below average at stopping the run. With Akers dealing with a shoulder issue, Henderson has a chance of emerging as the hot hand in the Super Bowl. And on Wednesday, Sean McVay indicated that he was planning to use all three of his running backs against the Bengals. However, if Akers is healthy enough to handle lead back duties, he remains the clear favorite to lead the backfield in touches. Henderson was losing the backfield to Sony Michel to close the regular season, so he will need to be a peak form to carve out a significant role this week. The Rams also activated NT Sebastian Joseph-Day from injured reserve.

  • CAR Defensive End #94
Rams placed DL A’Shawn Robinson on the active/NFI list.
The Rams signed Robinson to a two-year deal this offseason. Detroit selected him with the 46th overall pick in 2016 but he posted just five sacks in four years with the Lions. Robinson’s injury is not yet known. Sebastian Joseph-Day started alongside Aaron Donald in the trenches last year and is in line for that role again if Robinson misses time.

  • TEN Defensive End #69
Rams selected Rutgers DT Sebastian Joseph with the No. 195 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
Joseph (6'4/305) logged 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and 90 total tackles including 14.5 tackles for loss during his tenure at Rutgers. He showed well by running a 4.97 forty at his Pro Day and offers uncommon athleticism for a player of his size. Joseph projects as a run-stopping five technique in the Rams’ 3-4.
