Steelers signed WR Scotty Miller, formerly of the Falcons, to a one-year contract.
After hiring Arthur Smith to be their next offensive coordinator, the Steelers have made it abundantly clear that they plan to run Smith’s offense from Atlanta. They have already signed Cordarrelle Patterson, Van Jefferson, and Miller, all of whom played under Smith in 2023, this offseason. Miller went for 161 yards and two scores on 11 grabs last year. He figures to see most of his work on special teams in Pittsburgh.

Falcons signed Scotty Miller, formerly of the Buccaneers.
Last seen being the incomplete receiver on several Tom Brady targets, Miller figures to be a depth receiver for Atlanta. Miller had a 23/185/0 line last year on 40 targets and hasn’t been fantasy-relevant since 2020. We doubt that changes in Atlanta’s run-heavy offense.

Scotty Miller was not targeted in the Bucs’ Wild Card Round loss to the Cowboys.
Per usual, Miller served as a backup and a special teams contributor this year. He peaked at 53 yards in a game and failed to score even once. With his contract expiring at the end of the league year, Miller could look to join a team more willing to use him as an occasional downfield threat in the spring.

Scotty Miller caught 7-of-8 targets for 53 yards in the Bucs’ Week 9 win over the Rams.
Miller tied Chris Godwin for the team lead in catches and was second on the team in yards behind Cade Otton’s 68. Miller racked up several grabs on the final drive to get the Bucs in position for Otton’s game-winning score. On the previous drive, Miller dropped an easy touchdown of his own that hit him right in the chest. He came into this one with 12 catches on the year and obviously isn’t a fantasy option when Mike Evans and Godwin are healthy.

  • SF Wide Receiver #84
Russell Gage (hamstring) is out for Week 8 against the Ravens.
Gage left Week 7 against the Panthers with the hamstring injury, which has plagued him for most of the season. Look for Breshad Perriman and Scotty Miller to see a spike in snaps and routes against the Ravens, though both receivers should be considered desperation fantasy plays.

  • PIT Wide Receiver #10
Scotty Miller caught 4-of-7 targets for 35 yards in the Buccaneers’ Week 5 win over the Falcons.
When Miller is on the field, Tom Brady looks his way. One of Miller’s targets was a deep ball where he couldn’t quite stay in bounds. If Julio Jones ever returns, it’ll likely push Miller back to the bench.

  • PIT Wide Receiver #10
Scotty Miller caught 1-of-5 targets for four yards in the Bucs’ Week 3 loss to the Packers.
Miller ran a pass route on 85 percent of Tom Brady’s drop backs and still managed to do nothing for fantasy purposes. Miller’s playing time spiked with Mike Evans, Julio Jones, and Chris Godwin sidelined. He should go back to the bench in Week 4 against Kansas City with Evans returning from his one-game suspension.

  • Wide Receiver #80
Julio Jones (knee) is out for Week 3 against the Packers.
Bucs declared WR Chris Godwin, DL Akiem Hicks, CB Zyon McCollum, TE Cade Otton, T Donovan Smith, and QB Kyle Trask inactive for Week 3. Without Jones, Mike Evans (suspension), and Godwin (hamstring), Scotty Miller, Russell Gage, and Breshad Perriman will presumably be Tom Brady’s top-three wideouts. Newly-acquired Cole Beasley could mix in too.

  • Wide Receiver #80
Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said Julio Jones (knee) will “probably” be a game-time decision for Week 3.
Jones missed Week 2 and appears to be a long shot to suit up this week against the Packers. The 33-year-old receiver has already proven unreliable for both the Bucs and fantasy managers who drafted him with hopes he could revive his career with Tom Brady in Tampa. With Mike Evans (suspension) sidelined and Jones likely out, Breshad Perriman and Scotty Miller could see extensive playing time against Green Bay.

  • PIT Wide Receiver #10
Bucs WR Scotty Miller (calf) was upgraded to “full” for Thursday’s practice.
Miller was “limited” on Wednesday, so he is now on track to suit up against the Packers. This isn’t normally the sort of injury we would go day to day on, but Miller’s status is genuinely important with Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and Julio Jones all out. That is to say nothing of Russell Gage (hamstring) remaining limited. Despite that injury carnage, we would still have a difficult time trusting Miller as a WR5 in PPR leagues.
