Bills WR Sam Aiken’s roster spot is now thought to be safe.
Aiken’s special teams value has reportedly earned him a job. Peerless Price and Josh Reed remain the favorites to start opposite Lee Evans.

The Bills will get WR Sam Aiken more reps with Bobby Shaw off the team.
He’s still only the No. 4 WR receiver on the team.
  • CLE Wide Receiver
Sam Aiken will move up to the No. 3 WR role in Buffalo this week.
Josh Reed is likely out, while Lee Evans will start. Drew Bledsoe doesn’t exactly have a top-flight group of receivers to lean on.

Paris Warren caught seven passes for 110 yards and two TDs in the Bucs’ Thursday night preseason win over Houston, before breaking his leg.
He may have been earning a roster spot before the injury. Now, Warren’s done for the year. Michael Clayton (2-25), Maurice Stovall (1-15), Ike Hilliard (0-0), and David Boston (1-5) were quiet. Stovall also had a drop that won’t help his chances of starting. Clayton, Stovall, and Warren opened up as starters in a three wideout set.

Browns released TE Ryan Krause, OL Andrew Hoffman, OL Cliff Louis, WR Maurice Mann, OL Fred Matua, DB DeMario Minter, DL Babatunde Oshinowo, DL Chase Pittman, OL Brent Pousson, DL Melila Purcell, WR Steve Sanders, LB Clifton Smith, OL Rob Smith, WR Syndric Steptoe, DB Justin Hamilton, DB Jeremy LeSueur, DL J’Vonne Parker and LB Jason Short. They also placed LB Mason Unck on IR.
Krause lost out on the third TE spot to Darnell Dinkins. Minter showed promise as a rookie, but seems to have never fully recovered from a knee injury last season. Pittman, Steptoe and Purcell could end up on the practice squad.

    Dolphins cut WR Az-Zahir Hakim
Hakim hadn’t caught a pass in three preseason games and seems to have lost out on the fifth WR spot to undrafted rookie Kerry Reed.

Rookie Julian Edelman has “clearly moved ahead” of Joey Galloway for the Patriots’ third receiver job, according to the Boston Globe.
While Galloway was a healthy inactive Sunday, Edelman rotated with Sam Aiken and caught a 12-yard pass against Baltimore. This isn’t a good position to invest for fantasy purposes but clearly, Galloway has fallen out of favor.
